“This is the weakest board I have ever seen” “Three headed monster” - referring to Amy Herman, Joyce Dalessandro, and Beth Hergesheimer.
Response (from member at meeting): there’s no written agreement, it is the schools property, and they don’t need permission. Salazar agrees with Gumb-he says they shouldn’t vote on it now. |

Gumb quotes one of Marsha Sutton's columns in the Del Mar Times and then comments: “[We cannot continue] Treating our most vulnerable students in the disrespected way they have been treated this year” “If we keep this current trajectory of secrets lies and deceit in this public institution if we do not work together to correct the behavior and culture of the district your legacy in 2020 could look more like this. She did not like special education students. Joyce was on the school board for 24 years. She did not like special education students. Our most vulnerable students. Joyce caused many good teachers to leave the district because the administration was weak and didn’t do their job to lead and set the direction so that all students in the district could be successful. I don't think Joyce who’s sat on the board for 24 years understands the budget.” “[Joyce] sat as the matriarch of the school board... and allowed continued secretive behavior” “Allowed private donors to obtain special treatment” Claims that Dalessandro got special treatment so long that she allowed the aforementioned behavior. Gumb also remarks that Beth Hergesheimer and Amy Herman are being controlled by Dalessandro. “[Joyce] stop saying that the district is perfect” “Football parents never got the memo that they didn’t have to pay” “Special education parents were assured a state of the art facility and were lied to” “Joyce if you can’t lead this change then your legacy is in jeopardy” Gumb is concerned that Dalessandro is not protecting SDUHSD students to the extent that is needed. ---- part 2
“It doesn't seem like theres any policy… for athletic departments” Gumb claims that the “board is acting like a supplemental checkbook for the district creates excessive concern for me as a taxpayer that there is something going on” “I will get to the bottom of the cash flow between the board and the district” “undesirable commingling of funds” “booster budgets from parents” $1.4 million in funds for athletics Salazar agrees with Gumb on not hiring and paying people to consult on press releases (Quan) Beth W. claims that there has been: - Illegal use of batting cages - Illegal contracts between foundation and donor - she proposes to change the locks - Wonders, "who directed Quan to address a rebuttal to UT (Union Tribune)?” |
